about me

Watching shadows refers both to the nature of seeing things and photographing them. Plato tells an allegory about a group a people chained to a wall of a cave where they can only see the outside world by watching shadows on the cave wall. Photographs too are just images, not reality itself.
I watched my dad make cine films in the 1970s and then started taking stills on film. The pleasure of looking through a lens and then finding out what the photograph looks like never fails to fascinate me. My photography is very straightforward - I have no desire to over manipulate images, the world is enough and there are many stories to be told.
